Cuisinart DCG-900BC Coffee Maker Problems
Posted by Admin on 08 Sep 2010 | Tagged as: Coffee Makers - General
This is a DCG-900BC Cuisinart grind & brew coffee maker. It has some defect causing it to require a spoon placed under the carafe to brew correctly. Even with all of the basket components aligned correctly, it’s impossible to get it to brew without a spoon under the carafe.

I just purchased the 700BC, same exact one but a glass carafe instead of the insulated one. That clicking, if you had read the directions, is the piece tghat sits above the gold basket aligning itself. You can align the arrows yourself before closing the basket door and the clicking will be a minimum. The only thing putting a spoon under the carafe does is push up on the drip-stop more, nothing to do with brewing.. Hope this helped, I LOVE mine, best coffee ever.
Do you have the piece about the grinding basket that rotates to allow the water to come down? The clicking sound if of that top piece trying to move to the correct position automatically. Hope this helps a little. Love the spoon idea.. HAHA!
